Voigtlander 50mm f/2 APO-Lanthar Lens- Sony E Mount
The Voigtlā§nder 50mm f2 Apo-Lanthar standard lens has been designed exclusively for Sony E Mount full-frame cameras. It is a manual focus & fixed focal length lens as per the current Voigtlā§nder E-mount lenses
2019 marks the 20th anniversary of Voigtlā§nder Classic Line lenses. The 50mm f2 has been recognised to be Voigtlā§nder's best performance standard focal length lens ever.
The Apo-Lanthar designation is given to extremely high-performance lenses in the Voigtlā§nder lens lineup, with APO being derived from the apochromatic optical design.
A need for apochromatic optical designs that reduce the longitudinal chromatic aberrations of the three primary colours (RGB) of light to practically zero arose with the increasing popularity of the colour film. Now, with high-resolution digital sensors, the need for extremely high-level control of chromatic aberration is even more pertinent than when colour film was introduced.
This lens comprises 10 elements in 8 groups. Five have abnormal partial dispersion glass, two aspherical lens surfaces and a built-in floating focus system.
The 50mm f2 Apo-Lanthar is exceptional and gives new meaning to the word "Standard"!
