The Ricoh GR IV Monochrome builds on the GR IV, evolving the GR series' core principles of image quality, speed and portability with a newly developed monochrome-dedicated sensor. By removing the colour filter and associated interpolation, it maximises the performance of the GR lens to deliver refined detail and rich tonal gradation.

A built-in red filter and new monochrome-specific Image Control modes further expand creative expression, enabling deeper and more distinctive monochrome photography.

This model features a monochrome sensor with 25.74MP APS-C resolution and an AA-filterless design that captures pure luminance for sharper detail, rich tones and expressive grain. The switchable built-in red filter enhances contrast and classic monochrome effects, while dedicated monochrome Image Controls offer modes for film-like black-and-white rendering.

Encased in a matte-black magnesium body with subtle monochrome detailing throughout, the camera includes an electronic shutter capable of high-speed shooting up to 1/16,000 s for effective bright-light control.
