Mirage V2026 Ultimate Edition Floating Licence
Mirage 5 supports all printers compatible with Mirage and is available as a floating licence, allowing the software to be used across multiple computers, but only on one computer at a time. It requires an active account on the Mirage licence server and an internet connection to operate; additional workstation licences are required if you wish to run Mirage 5 on more than one computer simultaneously, providing flexibility for shared environments while offering a great way to get a first taste of what Mirage 5 has to offer.
Print Templates
Mirage 5 includes advanced print templates designed to streamline image placement using flexible "slots"-defined areas where images can be inserted, scaled, rotated, and layered. Slots can overlap partially or completely and be arranged in different stacking orders as needed. Each slot is automatically numbered, and multiple slots can share the same number, allowing one image to populate all matching slots simultaneously-ideal for applications like passport photos. Masks, available as pixel or vector graphics, control visible areas within slots, and custom layouts can be saved as reusable templates for efficient repeat workflows.
Template Editor
The Template Editor enables users to create customised, labour-saving templates through an intuitive interface tailored for template design. Users can apply solid colours or image backgrounds, adjust slot size and positioning via Slot Frame settings, define how images scale within slots, and apply individual masks to each slot. This provides precise control over layout creation, supporting both simple and complex template designs.
Free Layout of Files on the Spread
Mirage 5 allows complete freedom when arranging images, enabling users to move, resize, rotate, and overlap files directly on the layout. This flexibility supports creative compositions such as collages and multi-layered designs, particularly useful for multi-page projects like photo albums. Any layout created can be instantly converted into a reusable template for future use.
Clear Program Interface
The redesigned interface in Mirage 5 simplifies workflow by consolidating tools into a single, organised workspace. Files can be dragged directly into the Print Preview area, while the improved menu structure groups functions logically for easy navigation. The Mirage Job Archive is now integrated into the interface, eliminating the need for a separate application, and features like "Start Over" allow users to quickly clear all files and reset the workspace.
Improved Print Preview
The enhanced print preview displays all pages side-by-side in a scrollable view, making it easy to review multi-page jobs. Navigation controls allow quick movement between pages, while accurate rendering ensures precise layout and alignment before printing, helping to reduce errors and improve output reliability.
File & Templates Browser
The File & Templates Browser provides an organised overview of imported images and available templates. Users can search, filter, and sort files based on criteria such as placement status or orientation, preview images at different sizes, and quickly drag and drop files or templates into the layout for faster workflow management.
Multiple Print Jobs at the Same Time
Mirage 5 supports the creation and management of multiple print jobs simultaneously, allowing users to prepare, pause, delete, or reprint jobs independently. This flexibility enables efficient handling of complex workflows, including the ability to interrupt ongoing jobs to process urgent prints without losing progress.
"Undo/Redo" Function
The Undo/Redo feature allows users to reverse or reapply changes made to layouts or settings, including manual image adjustments. Accessible via menu options or keyboard shortcuts, this functionality improves workflow control, while the "Print Again" option enables quick reprints when no changes have been made.
Improved Handling/Placement of Embedded Logos
Mirage 5 simplifies logo integration by allowing users to scale and position embedded logos directly within the preview using on-screen controls. Adjustable handles appear when selecting a logo, enabling precise placement and consistent branding without requiring external editing tools.
New Tools for Image Editing
Mirage 5 offers a range of non-destructive image editing tools within the software, including Gaussian blur with pixel-accurate preview and drop shadow effects with adjustable opacity, direction, softness, offset, and colour. Additional tools such as auto colour, auto contrast, exposure, white balance, sharpening, and support for Photoshop filters provide advanced control while preserving original image files.
New Print Mode "Only Black Ink"
For supported printers and media, Mirage 5 includes an "Only Black Ink" mode that uses pure black ink instead of grey inks. This feature is ideal for high-contrast monochrome printing and specialised applications requiring deep, consistent blacks, depending on printer compatibility.
Settings Option "Simulation"
The Simulation feature enables advanced proofing by allowing users to preview how prints will appear on different printers. Available under the "Extra" tab, it supports all installed CMYK profiles, helping ensure accurate colour reproduction and reducing the risk of print errors.
Additional Print Marks
Mirage 5 enhances finishing accuracy with advanced print mark options, including inset crop marks to prevent unwanted white edges. The "Page Print Marks" feature allows marks to be applied across the entire layout rather than per image, with adjustable spacing to suit specific production requirements.
Support for Current Operating Systems
Mirage 5 supports modern systems including macOS Ventura, Windows 11, and current Adobe Creative Cloud versions, while maintaining compatibility with Windows 10 and macOS High Sierra as minimum requirements. As a native 64-bit application, it delivers improved performance when handling large files, multiple jobs, and demanding print workflows.
