Mirage Master Edition for Epson supports all FineArt printers up to 64" (162.6 cm) print width, including Epson Stylus Pro 3xxx, 4xxx, 7xxx, 9xxx and 11xxx series, as well as Stylus Photo models R2880, R3000, P700, P900, XP-15000 and P400 (Windows 10 and 11 only). It is also compatible with Epson SureColour T-series printers such as T3000, T3100, T3200, T3400, T5000, T5100, T5200, T5400, T7000, T7200, T5400M, SC-T3100x and SC-T3700 variants, along with SureColour P-series models including P600, P800, P50xx, P60xx, P70xx, P80xx, P90xx, P100xx, P200xx, P7500, P9500, SC-P8500D, SC-T7700D, SC-P8500DL, SC-P6500D and SC-P6500E, plus SC-F500 (Windows 10 and 11 only) and SL-D500. The Mirage single seat licence allows you to use Mirage 5 on one computer and requires an active Mirage licence server account and an internet connection; additional workstation licences are needed to run the software on multiple computers simultaneously, offering a streamlined workflow and a great way to get a first taste of what Mirage 5 has to offer.

Print Templates

Mirage 5 includes advanced print templates designed to streamline image placement and workflow efficiency. Templates are built using "slots," which are defined areas where images can be inserted, rotated, scaled, and layered, with the ability for slots to overlap and be arranged in different stacking orders. Each slot is automatically assigned a number, allowing multiple slots with the same number to be filled simultaneously with a single image-ideal for applications such as passport photos. Users can also apply pixel or vector masks to control visible areas within each slot, and any custom layout can be saved and reused as a template, providing consistency and time savings across projects.

Template Editor

The integrated Template Editor allows users to create fully customised, labour-saving templates using an intuitive and purpose-built interface. Users can select solid colours or import their own images as template backgrounds, precisely adjust slot size and positioning via Slot Frame settings, and define how images scale within slots using flexible scaling options. Individual masks can also be applied per slot for greater design control, making it easy to produce both simple and highly complex templates tailored to specific workflows.

Free Layout of Files on the Spread

Mirage 5 offers complete freedom when arranging images on the print layout, enabling users to move, resize, rotate, and layer images independently. With support for overlapping elements, users can create collages, multipage designs, and complex compositions such as photo albums without limitation. Any layout created can be instantly converted into a reusable template, combining creative flexibility with efficient repeatability.

Clear Program Interface

The redesigned Mirage 5 interface delivers a cleaner and more efficient user experience by eliminating unnecessary windows and consolidating functionality into a single workspace. Files can be dragged directly into the Print Preview area, while the reorganised menu structure groups all functions logically. The Mirage Job Archive is now fully integrated, removing the need for a separate application, and features like "Start Over" allow users to quickly reset the workspace without restarting the program, improving overall workflow efficiency.

Improved Print Preview

The enhanced print preview provides a clear, scrollable view of all pages displayed side by side, allowing users to easily review multi-page layouts. Navigation controls enable quick movement between pages, including jumping to the beginning or end, while the pixel-accurate display ensures precise alignment and layout accuracy before printing, reducing errors and improving confidence in output.

File & Templates Browser

The File & Templates Browser offers a streamlined overview of all loaded images and available templates, making it easy to manage large volumes of content. Users can preview, search, filter, and organise files based on criteria such as placement status or orientation, and quickly drag and drop images or templates into the layout, significantly improving workflow speed and organisation.

Multiple Print Jobs at the Same Time

Mirage 5 enables the creation and management of multiple print jobs simultaneously, allowing users to prepare, pause, delete, or reprint jobs independently. This flexibility is ideal for busy production environments, as users can temporarily pause complex jobs to prioritise urgent prints, ensuring efficient time management without disrupting ongoing work.

"Undo/Redo" Function

The built-in Undo/Redo functionality allows users to easily reverse or reapply changes made to layouts or settings, including manual image positioning and configuration adjustments. Accessible via menu options or keyboard shortcuts, this feature ensures a flexible and forgiving workflow, while the "Print Again" option enables quick reprints when no further changes have been made.

Improved Handling/Placement of Embedded Logos

Mirage 5 simplifies the integration of logos into print layouts by allowing users to scale, rotate, and reposition logos directly within the preview using intuitive on-screen controls. This eliminates the need for external editing software and ensures precise placement for professional branding and consistent output.

New Tools for Image Editing

Mirage 5 includes powerful, non-destructive image editing tools that can be applied directly within the software. Features such as Gaussian blur and drop shadow effects allow users to enhance images with adjustable parameters including opacity, direction, softness, offset, and colour. Additional editing capabilities include auto colour, contrast adjustments, exposure control, white balance, sharpening, and support for Photoshop filters, all of which can be previewed with pixel-level accuracy for precise results.

New Print Mode "Only Black Ink"

For supported printers and media combinations, Mirage 5 introduces an "Only Black Ink" mode, which uses pure black ink instead of grey inks. This mode is particularly useful for producing high-contrast monochrome prints and specialised outputs where deep, consistent blacks are required.

Settings Option "Simulation"

The Simulation feature provides advanced proofing capabilities by allowing users to preview how prints will appear when produced on different printers. By applying CMYK profiles, users can simulate output conditions directly within Mirage, ensuring colour accuracy and consistency across multiple devices and reducing costly printing errors.

Additional Print Marks

Mirage 5 offers enhanced control over print marks, including the ability to inset crop marks to prevent unwanted white edges. The "Page Print Marks" feature allows marks to be applied around the entire layout rather than individual images, with adjustable spacing to suit specific requirements, ensuring precision during trimming and finishing processes.

Mirage 5 is fully compatible with modern systems including macOS Ventura, Windows 11, and Adobe CC 2023, while also supporting Windows 10 and macOS High Sierra as minimum requirements.
