Mirage Master Edition for Epson supports all FineArt printers up to 64" (162.6 cm) print width, including Epson Stylus Pro 3xxx, 4xxx, 7xxx, 9xxx and 11xxx series, as well as Stylus Photo models R2880, R3000, P700, P900, XP-15000 and P400 (Windows 10 and 11 only). It is also compatible with Epson SureColour T-series printers such as T3000, T3100, T3200, T3400, T5000, T5100, T5200, T5400, T7000, T7200, T5400M, SC-T3100x and SC-T3700 variants, along with SureColour P-series models including P600, P800, P50xx, P60xx, P70xx, P80xx, P90xx, P100xx, P200xx, P7500, P9500, SC-P8500D, SC-T7700D, SC-P8500DL, SC-P6500D and SC-P6500E, plus SC-F500 (Windows 10 and 11 only) and SL-D500. The floating licence allows Mirage 5 to be used across multiple computers, but only on one computer at a time, and requires an active account on the Mirage licence server and an internet connection; additional workstation licences are required for simultaneous use on multiple systems, offering flexibility for shared workflows and a great way to get a first taste of what Mirage 5 has to offer.

Print Templates

Mirage 5 offers flexible print templates designed for professional image placement. Templates consist of numbered slots, each capable of holding an image that can be freely rotated, scaled, and layered. Multiple slots can share the same number, so inserting an image into one slot automatically fills all corresponding slots-a feature ideal for passport or application photos. Pixel or vector "masks" define which areas of the slots are printed, and any custom layout can be converted into a reusable template, saving time and ensuring consistent results across projects.

Template Editor

The Template Editor allows users to create and customise their own templates with precision. You can choose monochrome backgrounds or upload custom images, adjust slot size and layout in the Slot Frame settings, scale images proportionally, and assign individual masks to each slot. Its intuitive interface makes it simple to produce complex layouts efficiently, with tools designed specifically for professional template creation and creative flexibility.

Free Layout of Files on the Spread

Mirage 5 enables complete freedom in arranging images on the spread. Images can be independently moved, rotated, and overlapped to create collages or multipage photo albums. Layouts created this way can be saved as templates for future use, providing unlimited creative possibilities and improving efficiency for repeated or large-scale print jobs.

Clear Program Interface

The new Mirage 5 interface simplifies workflow by replacing the old "Drop Files Here" window with a drag-and-drop Print Preview area. Functions are organised logically in the menu bar, and the integrated Mirage Job Archive allows easy management of past print jobs. Users can undo adjustments, remove files without closing the program, and access all settings in a streamlined environment, enabling faster and more efficient printing.

Improved Print Preview

Mirage 5 features a pixel-accurate, scrollable print preview showing all pages side by side. Navigation buttons allow users to move forward, backward, or jump to the start or end of the document. This clear overview ensures precise layout control and alignment for multi-page documents, making it easier to visualise and adjust print output before sending it to the printer.

File & Templates Browser

The File & Templates Browser provides a clear overview of all uploaded images and templates. Users can preview, search, filter, and drag files into the printable area as needed. Filters include "already placed," "not placed," portrait, and landscape, making project management faster and more intuitive, especially for large print jobs with multiple images or templates.

Multiple Print Jobs at the Same Time

Mirage 5 allows the simultaneous creation and management of multiple print jobs. Users can start, pause, delete, or reprint jobs independently, which is ideal for professionals who need to print urgent files without interrupting ongoing projects. This flexibility streamlines workflow and enhances productivity in complex print environments.

"Undo/Redo" Function

All changes, including layout adjustments and settings modifications, can be undone or reapplied using the Undo/Redo function via the Edit menu or standard keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+Z / Shift+Ctrl+Z). Once a job is printed, the "Print" button updates to "Print Again" if no changes were made, simplifying reprints and ensuring quick correction of mistakes.

Improved Handling and Placement of Embedded Logos

Mirage 5 allows seamless integration of logos directly into print layouts. Logos can be scaled, rotated, and moved freely using handles in the print and page preview. This precise control enables professional branding and layout consistency without the need for additional graphic editing software.

New Tools for Image Editing

Mirage 5 introduces powerful in-app image editing tools. Gaussian Blur and Drop Shadow effects are applied non-destructively, with full control over opacity, direction, softness, offset, and colour. All edits are reflected in the pixel-accurate preview, enabling precise adjustments and professional-quality results without leaving the software.

New Print Mode "Only Black Ink"

For supported printers and media, Mirage 5 offers a "Only Black Ink" print mode that uses black ink exclusively, excluding grey tones. This feature is ideal for monochrome prints, documents, and artistic applications, producing sharp, high-contrast results with reduced ink usage.

Settings Option "Simulation"

The Simulation function enables users to preview how prints will appear on different printers by applying CMYK profiles. Available under the Extra tab, this proofing option ensures colour accuracy and consistency across devices, helping professionals avoid errors and achieve reliable print results every time.

Additional Print Marks

Mirage 5 allows advanced management of print marks. Crop marks can be moved inward via the Inset option to prevent white overlaps, and "Page Print Marks" can be placed around the entire spread with adjustable gaps. This ensures precise trimming and alignment for multi-image layouts or professional print standards, supporting high-quality output for all projects.
