Mirage V2026 17" Edition Epson Inc Pro Ext Single Seat Licence
Mirage 17" Edition for Epson includes support for FineArt printers with a 17" (43.2 cm) print width, covering Epson Stylus Pro 3xxx and 4xxx series as well as Epson SureColour P8xx, P9xx and P5xxx models, and is available as a single seat licence, allowing Mirage 5 to be used on one computer. It requires an active account on the Mirage licence server and an internet connection, with the unlock key delivered via email directly after purchase; additional workstation licences are required if you wish to run the software on more than one computer at the same time, providing flexibility as your workflow grows while offering a great way to get a first taste of what Mirage 5 has to offer.
Print Templates
Mirage 5 includes advanced print templates designed to streamline image placement and layout creation. Templates contain numbered slots-square areas where images can be inserted, rotated, and positioned freely. Slots can partially or fully overlap and can be layered above or below one another to create complex designs. Multiple slots can share the same number, allowing a single image dropped into one slot to automatically populate all matching slots, which is especially useful for passport or application photos. Mirage also supports masks, which are pixel or vector shapes that determine which parts of the slot are printed, giving users additional creative control. Custom layouts can also be saved and reused as templates for future print jobs.
Template Editor
The built-in Template Editor allows users to design custom templates tailored to specific workflows. It offers specialised tools for editing slot frames, adjusting slot sizes, and arranging the layout precisely. Users can customise the template background by selecting their own image file instead of using a simple colour background. The Slot Image Scale settings control how images are scaled when inserted into a slot, such as proportional filling, while the Slot Mask option enables individual masks to be applied to each slot for more advanced layout effects.
Free Layout of Files on the Spread
Mirage 5 allows images to be freely arranged anywhere on the print spread, giving users complete creative flexibility. Images can be moved independently and even overlap, making it possible to design collages, layered layouts, and multipage documents such as photo albums. This open layout approach removes traditional placement restrictions and enables more complex compositions. Once created, these layouts can easily be converted into reusable templates with a single click.
Clear Program Interface
The redesigned Mirage 5 interface improves clarity and usability by simplifying the workflow. The previous "Drop Files Here" window has been removed, allowing users to drag files directly into the Print Preview area. The updated menu bar groups all functions logically, making tools easier to find and access. The Mirage Job Archive is now integrated into the main interface, eliminating the need for a separate program to manage previous print jobs. Users can also reset the workspace using "File → Start Over," which removes all files and copies from the layout without closing the application.
Improved Print Preview
Mirage 5 features an enhanced print preview that displays all print pages side by side in a scrollable area for easier review. This layout makes it simple to check the entire print job before printing. Navigation controls such as "<<", "<", ">", and ">>" allow users to move forward or backward through pages or jump directly to the beginning or end of the job, improving efficiency when working with multi-page print projects.
File & Templates Browser
The File & Templates Browser provides a clearer overview of uploaded images and available templates. Users can search, select, and manage files while adjusting preview sizes to suit their workflow. Built-in filters make it easy to locate files quickly, such as filtering by "already placed", "not placed", portrait orientation, or landscape orientation. Images and templates can be quickly added to the print layout using simple drag-and-drop functionality.
Multiple Print Jobs at the Same Time
Mirage 5 allows users to create and manage multiple print jobs simultaneously, giving greater flexibility during busy workflows. New print jobs can be created through the "File → New" option while existing jobs remain available in the background. This allows users to pause complex jobs during preparation, quickly print another file in the meantime, or delete jobs that are no longer required.
"Undo/Redo" Function
The built-in Undo and Redo function allows users to reverse or reapply recent changes made within the layout or settings. Adjustments such as repositioning images or modifying settings can be undone step by step using the Edit menu or standard keyboard shortcuts like Ctrl + Z and Shift + Ctrl + Z. Once a job has been sent to the printer, the Print button automatically changes to "Print Again" if no changes are made, enabling quick reprints of the same job.
Improved Handling/Placement of Embedded Logos
Mirage 5 makes it easy to integrate logos directly into print layouts. Users can scale and reposition embedded logos directly within the page or print preview using the mouse. When the cursor is placed over a logo, adjustment handles appear, allowing precise resizing and positioning without needing external editing software.
New Tools for Image Editing
Mirage 5 introduces additional image editing tools directly within the printing interface. The Photo tab includes a Gaussian Blur feature that allows users to apply controlled blur effects to images, while the Pixel-Exact Preview helps evaluate the strength of the effect accurately. A Drop Shadow tool is also available in the Extra tab, enabling images to be printed with adjustable shadows. Users can control shadow colour, opacity, direction, softness, and offset using intuitive sliders for enhanced visual presentation.
New Print Mode "Only Black Ink"
Certain compatible printers support a dedicated "Only Black Ink" print mode in Mirage 5. When enabled, the printer uses only black ink instead of combining black and grey inks. This option is useful for specific monochrome printing applications and is available only on selected printer models and supported paper and ink combinations.
Settings Option "Simulation"
Mirage 5 includes a Simulation feature that allows users to preview how a print would appear on a different printer. Located in the Extra tab, this proofing tool uses CMYK colour profiles installed on the system to simulate output from other devices. This functionality is particularly useful for professional workflows where accurate colour matching across multiple printers is required.
Additional Print Marks
Mirage 5 expands print finishing controls with additional print mark options. In the Print Marks settings menu, crop marks can be moved inward using the Inset option to reduce the risk of white edges during trimming. A new Page Print Marks feature allows marks to be applied around the entire spread rather than just individual images. When multiple images are placed on a page, the marks can surround the entire layout with adjustable spacing.
Support for Current Operating Systems
Mirage 5 supports modern operating systems including macOS 13 Ventura, Windows 11, and Adobe Creative Cloud 2023 applications. Installation requires at least Windows 10 or macOS High Sierra. The software can also communicate with compatible printers to retrieve stored custom media settings directly from the device, helping ensure correct print configurations and improving workflow efficiency.
