A compact, fast, and seriously practical on-camera flash, the Godox V480 brings TTL, High-Speed Sync and the 2.4 GHz Godox X ecosystem into a smaller body with a big battery. It slots into your hot shoe, locks on tight, and gives you a clean 2” touchscreen so you can change power, zoom and sync settings without diving through cryptic menus. The 7.2 V 2200 mAh Li-ion pack recycles in about 1.7 s and is good for roughly 650 full-power pops, so you’re not babysitting AA batteries all day.

Output & control, minus the fuss

The V480 supports brand-native TTL, Manual, Multi, HSS and 2nd-curtain sync (behaviour varies by camera), with a Guide Number of 50 (metres, ISO 100). Power runs from 1/256 to full, and flash duration spans roughly 1/600 to 1/20,000 s, so you can freeze action or feather your fill without nasty colour shifts. A pull-out wide diffuser and catchlight card are built in, and the motorised zoom covers 24–105 mm to match your lens.

Built to bounce, swivel and live off-camera

Tilt runs from –7° to 120° and the head rotates 330°, making quick bounce angles easy in tight spaces. When you want to get the flash off-camera, the integrated 2.4 GHz radio works with Godox X transmitters (XPro II, X2, X3, etc.) for remote power, zoom and triggering out to around 100 m (line-of-sight), with 32 channels and five groups to keep sets tidy.

Bright ideas on board

A 2W LED modelling light (approx. 5300 K ±300 K) sits dead-centre for quick previews and close-up work. The 2” touchscreen UI is straightforward—big icons, clear status, and a battery gauge you can trust. USB-C keeps firmware current as new camera bodies land.
