Mobile content creators now have the ability to continuously record footage while on location with the Recording Module for MagSafe iPhones & USB-C Cameras from Kondor Blue. Rather than pausing your shoot to offload the phone's memory, you can just continue to swap in fresh SD memory cards and continue filming. Please note, the module requires V90 SD cards with sustained write speeds of at least 220 MB/s. The compact module conveniently attaches to the back of your MagSafe/magnetic iPhone, such as the iPhone 15/16 Pro or Pro Max, saving up to 4K60 ProRes footage to the card through a short 5" USB-C 3.2 Gen 2x2 cable connection. A connection that also lets the Recording Module work with USB-C equipped cameras. Data is transferred quickly at 10 Gb/s, which helps with speedy video capture and data offloading, as the Recording Module also doubles as a card reader.

Mounting Options

For simple setups, creators can simply click the magnetic Recording Module to the back of their MagSafe/magnetic smartphone. For more complex situations, the underside of the module provides a 1/4"-20 threaded female connector and male/female ARRI standard 3mm anti-twist pins. Use them to attach optional adapters for mounting the module to a tripod or camera rig.

On top of its magnetic phone connection, physical mounts, and compact size, this module further supports the mobile aesthetic with USB bus-powered operation and a robust construction that's made to withstand extreme temperatures and shock.

Recording Capability

This SD memory card version of the recording module supports ProRes LOG, SDR, and HDR recording. For 24p, 25p, 30p, and 60p frame rates, all of them are supported when using the Blackmagic Camera app. However, when using the Apple Camera app, this version does not support ProRes at 60p in either LOG, SDR, or HDR.
